Mission & Vision
Art as Infrastructure
For too long, the alleyways of McDougall-Hunt were sites of neglect. Bailey Park NDC views these spaces differently — to us, an alleyway is a connection point.
The Arts Alleyway project is a resident-led initiative to reclaim these corridors through intentional lighting, professional murals, and community-driven art installations that turn overlooked paths into vibrant outdoor galleries.
Reclaiming the Corridor
By turning these spaces into outdoor galleries, we improve neighborhood safety while creating a permanent platform for resident expression.
Intentional Lighting
High-quality, sustainable lighting installations that improve safety and extend the use of these spaces after dark.

The Arts Alleyway is a key part of our neighborhood revitalization strategy. Studies show that when residents reclaim alleyways with art and light, incidents of illegal dumping decrease significantly while community pride and safety flourish.
